Behavior - Be considerate in your posts,
use spell check (yes, I know I am the world's worst at this but I am
trying to set goals for myself:-)) if you have it. DON'T SHOUT
UNLESS YOU MEAN TO (All caps are considered shouting). If posting,
send it via the list service (currently YahooGroups), when making a
private reply to someone's post don't just hit reply and send it to
everyone, reply to their own address. Please use the chat list for
general discussions, don't interfere with the game. |
|
Be
Considerate of Other's Creations
- Don't write anything that changes
or radically affects someone else's character, NPCs or settings. If you
want to start a fight, make sure the player says it's OK first.
Furthermore, you can not kill another player's character unless you and
the other player have agreed on such a course. Additionally, please
notified the appropriate Gamemaster of such an upcoming action.
Remember, by getting permission to mess with someone's creation you'll end
up with richer, fuller posts that mesh with other's. |
|
This
is not a Comic Book
- Look at the writing and you'll find a complexity
and quality of writing common to novels and short stories. This game is
not a comic book, Sega game, Manga or Dungeons and Dragons. The
interesting parts of this game involve the interaction of characters,
intrigue and adventure. Be reasonable, no Immortals, Gods or Mages of such
incredible power that they are impossible to deal with, much less destroy.
And if all you want to do is kill monsters, go elsewhere. |
|
Post
at least once a week
- Twice if you can. If you fail to post
regularly to a thread, the Gamemaster may ask you to leave that particular
thread. Please post something of substance also. Posts that
are only a one sentence reply or acknowledgement of being in a situation
are not acceptable. Let the descriptive prose emerge. |
|
Be
nice, no flaming
- If you have a issue, please talk to the Gamemaster
or one of the Game Moderators. We will work it out. Swearing
or otherwise demeaning or humiliating another writer will get you
instantly removed from the game. |
|
Be
Involved - There is nothing sadder than seeing a player writing well
crafted, interesting posts, that never touch on the other characters or
events in the game. Players who fail to get involved with other
players become bored and quit. Don't quit, get involved.
Please try to use the Vulturi Iden Chat List. That is the reason
this list is created, for non-game related banter. All players will be
subscribed to this list also, unless other arrangements are made with the
Gamemasters. |
|
Be
Aware - Try not to contradict other's posts (unless you have a good
reason for it). Perhaps their character didn't know something yours
does. But if you try to interact with a dead character or NPC, there
better be a good explanation. |
|
Know
Where You Want to Go
- I don't mean chart out your character's
future. Like any overachiever, your character should have some idea
of what they want in life. Your interactions should reflect your
character's goals in life. "But Heather, I want to write about
a slacker who's happy just to get fed and sleep dry" - that's fine,
but will anybody want to read about that character? |
|
Age
Restriction
- This list is
restricted to people 18 years and older because it often deals with
adult subject matter and sexual situations. |
|
Lurking
- There is no lurking allowed within this list dimmed by the consensus of
the members at this present time. |
|
Taking
a break from writing
- If you are going to
be gone for some reason, PLEASE let us know by posting to the Vulturi
Iden Chat List so we don't wonder if you've been abducted by aliens. |
